Concrete is the first thing a new home gets
Drive any of the new neighborhoods here and you will see the same sequence: a pad is poured, framing goes up, and months later a family moves in with a garage that has never been touched since the builder's crew troweled it. That fresh slab looks clean on closing day. Within a year it usually shows tire marks, drips from the mower, a hairline crack or two and a fine film of dust that never seems to sweep away. A coating system stops that slide early, while the concrete is still in good shape and preparation is simplest.
We are a small team that does nothing but concrete coatings. Our crews grind, repair, prime and build floors for homeowners, builders, property managers and business owners across the area. We do not subcontract the prep, and we do not hand off the job to a different crew halfway through. The people who quote your floor are the people who answer the phone when you have a question about it.
Built for blackland clay and Texas summers
The soil under this part of the state is famous for swelling when it rains and shrinking during drought. That movement flexes foundations, opens control joints and creates the hairline cracks that so many homeowners notice in their first summer. A rigid, thin coating rolled over those cracks will mirror them within months. We treat cracks before anything else, using semi-rigid fillers for moving joints and structural epoxy or polyurea for static breaks, so the finished surface stays continuous.
Heat is the other challenge. Garage interiors can top 110 degrees in August, and hot tires pulled in after a drive soften cheap coatings until they lift in the shape of a tread. We specify materials rated for high temperatures and finish garages with a polyaspartic or aliphatic urethane topcoat that resists hot tire pickup and stays color-stable when the door is open to direct afternoon sun.
Who we work for
Most of our projects are home garages, from compact two-bay layouts to oversized garages with room for a boat, a side-by-side and a workbench. We also coat shop buildings on acreage, barndominium floors, small warehouses along the main corridors, salon and retail floors near the square, church fellowship halls and school support spaces. Builders and investors call us for model homes and turnovers, and we can work from a set schedule so the floor is done before move-in.

Preparation decides the outcome
Every coating failure we are called to fix traces back to the same few causes: the concrete was not ground, cracks were ignored, moisture was never tested or the product was too thin. Our process is designed around avoiding those mistakes. We start with planetary diamond grinders connected to HEPA dust extractors, which remove the slick, weak surface layer left by finishing trowels and any curing compound the builder sprayed. That opens the pores so primer soaks in and grips mechanically.
Next we fill cracks, patch spalls and pits and feather any low spots. On older floors we also strip oil with degreasers and, when needed, heat-treat deep stains so they do not bleed through. Only then does the first coat go down. Most garage systems include a penetrating primer, a pigmented base coat, a broadcast of decorative flake and a clear topcoat, for a total thickness several times that of a store-bought kit.
New construction timing
Fresh concrete needs time to cure before it can be coated. As a rule of thumb, we like to see a slab at least 28 days old, and we always confirm with a moisture test. If you just closed on a new home, the garage is often ready by the time you are unpacked. Coating before shelving, cabinets and freezers move in is ideal, because we can run the finish wall to wall and up a short cove base without working around clutter.
Designs and colors
Flake blends range from subtle grays to warm browns that hide red clay dust tracked in from the yard. Solid colors with a light broadcast offer a cleaner, workshop look. Metallic epoxy creates swirling, stone-like patterns for interior rooms. We bring physical samples to the consultation and can lay them on your slab so you can judge them in your own light rather than on a screen.
How a typical project goes
We start with a free visit to measure, inspect cracks, test moisture and listen to how you use the space. Within a day or two you receive a written quote that lists every step, product and coat, along with the schedule. On install day we protect walls and thresholds, grind and vacuum, repair, coat and clean up. Many garages are finished in one day with polyaspartic, or two days with a full epoxy system. We walk you through cure times before we leave.
Honest pricing
Price depends on square footage, the condition of the slab, how much crack work is needed, whether an old coating has to be removed and which system you choose. We itemize all of it. If a less expensive option will serve you well, we will say so, and if a cheaper shortcut is likely to fail, we will explain why before you decide.
Care after the job
Coated floors are easy to live with. Sweep or blow out grit, rinse with a hose and squeegee, and clean spills with a mild soap. Place a pad under motorcycle kickstands and jack stands. A quick wash every few months keeps the finish looking new for years.
